BookForge Privacy Policy

Information BookForge Stores

BookForge stores imported audio files, cover artwork, project metadata, preferences, and completed-build references locally within the app’s macOS container. This information is not uploaded to the BookForge developer.

Deleting a project removes its app-managed project files. Finished audiobook files saved elsewhere remain under your control.

Metadata and Cover Lookup

BookForge includes an optional book-information lookup powered by Open Library.

When you use this feature, the title, author, or ISBN you enter is sent to Open Library. Open Library also receives standard network information such as your IP address. BookForge receives matching book metadata and cover candidates. Selected metadata and artwork are stored locally with your project.

BookForge does not upload your audio files or completed audiobooks to Open Library.

Open Library is operated by the Internet Archive and is governed by its own Terms and Privacy Policy.

Data Collection

BookForge does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics. BookForge does not include its own telemetry or third-party crash-reporting SDK.

Apple may process purchase, download, diagnostic, and App Store information according to Apple’s own privacy policies.

Support Communications

If you contact support, the information you include in your message will be used only to respond to your request, investigate the reported issue, and maintain necessary support records. You may request deletion of a support conversation.

Your Content and Rights

You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to use the audio, metadata, and artwork included in audiobooks you create with BookForge.

Children’s Privacy

BookForge does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated when BookForge’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
