Plain-language policy

FIREPath Privacy Policy

FIREPath is an offline educational retirement-planning tool. It does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party software development kits.

Effective August 22, 2026

Information stored on the device

Plan inputs, preferences, and saved scenarios are stored only in FIREPath's private app container on the user's device. FIREPath does not transmit this information to the developer or to third parties.

Data collection and sharing

FIREPath does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information or financial information. It does not use information for advertising or tracking.

FIREPath has no accounts and no server component. Because plan information never leaves the device, the developer never receives it and holds no copy to retain, disclose, or delete.

Files exported from the app

FIREPath writes files only at the user's request and only to a location the user selects:

  • PDF reports summarizing a historical test.
  • Backup files in JSON format containing plan inputs, preferences, and saved scenarios.

Both are generated on the device. Exported files are outside FIREPath's private storage and remain under the user's control; FIREPath does not upload them or send them anywhere. Because a backup file contains the financial details entered into the plan, it should be stored and shared with the same care as any other personal financial document.

Importing a backup file reads it on the device and replaces the working plan, preferences, and saved scenarios currently stored in FIREPath.

External links

FIREPath can open historical-data reference links in the user's browser. Those websites and the browser may have their own privacy practices. FIREPath does not receive browsing information from those destinations.

Retention and deletion

Local plan data remains on the device until the user changes it, selects Delete all FIREPath data in Privacy & Support, or removes the app. The in-app deletion control removes the working plan, preferences, and saved scenarios and restores the non-personal sample plan. Removing the app also removes its private container, subject to the platform's backup and restoration behavior. Exported PDF reports and backup files live outside the app and must be deleted separately from the location where the user saved them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected by updating the effective date and the policy included with the app and on its public privacy-policy page.
